1. AYY’S OPERATING GRANTS 2012
The application for AYY’s operating grant and the submitting of the association notice is ongoing. The application period is 1 March–1 April. Operating grants are open to all associations approved in AYY’s first register. Associations in the second register only fill out the association notice.
The application form is available at https://lomake.ayy.fi/yhdistykset/ayyn-toiminta-avustushakemus/ (form in English coming soon). Further information on the application is available from the Student Union’s organisational sector by email at
jarjestoasiat@ayy.fi. You can also find answers at /en/associations/grants-for-associations/, which has concise information on the operating grant and the scoring model used in the allocation of the grants.
2. IS YOUR ASSOCIATION’S AYY.FI PROFILE UP TO DATE?
One of the conditions to receive the operating grant in 2012 is to have an updated association profile at ayy.fi. It is advisable to check the situation of your profile immediately. If your association does not have the profile, you should order it before the end of the application period of the operating grant on 1 April 2012. The ayy.fi username needed for the profile can be ordered at webmaster@ayy.fi. Please include your contact information and the association name with the order. Since the association members often change annually, it is recommended that usernames are sent directly to the general e-mail address of the association (such as info@yhdistys.fi) so that they are forwarded to new members.
Association profiles should be trilingual. Translations may be ordered through AYY from Joonas Jylhä (joonas.jylha@ayy.fi).
3. POLIJAZZ’S POPULAR INTENSIVE COURSE OF PARTNER DANCE ZOUK
Polijazz will arrange the popular intensive course of ZOUK partner dance. The four-session course
will be arranged on 24 March, Sat 31 March and Mon 9 Apr. The last session is a free rehearsal of zouk where you can get to know many other enthusiasts. You do not need your own partner for the course. The event on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/171384902979346/
Zouk is a partner dance created in Brazil in the 1980s, which is rapidly spreading around the world. Now you have a great opportunity to learn zouk under the guidance of professional teacher Soile Vedenpää.
The course is primarily intended for students. The course fee is 20 euro / person and you do not need your own partner. Please sign up by email with Polijazz secretary niina.raisanen@hotmail.com while there are still available places in the course!

4. PARTICIPATE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NOPPA SERVICE
We are developing the Noppa service and this survey will provide us information about the students’ opinions on the most important services in Noppa supporting students’ studies. The survey also includes questions to support the development of mobile services for information in Noppa. The information from the survey will be used for development of Noppa development guidelines and detailed development. We will also arrange interviews for the participants. If you wish to participate in the interviews and testings you can give us your contact information at the end of the survey.
We hope you will use about fifteen minutes of your time to answer the survey. The answers will be processed confidentially. The survey is open for answers 12.3.-25.3.2012. We will raffle fifteen movie tickets among the participants.

5. BRING YOUR EVENT TO WORLD DESIGN CAPITAL YEAR!
Dear university student! Are you involved in an organisation whose activities you would like to present to the whole city? Would you like to be involved in organising a new event?
We, in World Student Capital, hope that organisations or student groups bring their own events to World Student Capital. The events can be in various forms, e.g. freshmen parties or really large street events.
We offer help in communications and advertise events. In addition, we also support events financially if they take into account the themes of WSC or are otherwise special.
What should I do?
- Register your event to WSC event calendar.
- If you need financial support, please fill out the online application form.
In addition to basic information, the application should include a more detailed plan for implementing the project, responsible persons as well as the budget and the plan on where the money will be used.
