TKY

The Student Union of the Helsinki University of Technology counted its history to have begun, starting from 1872, when a student association called Teknologföreningen was founded. Over the years, students of technology found new associations  and changed their shape and name due to the language disputes in Finland and in the Helsinki University of Technology.

You can find more information from the  Student Union’s 125-year history book: Polin suojiin me saavumme taas – 125 years of the Student Union of the Helsinki University of Technology (Jari Hanski, Jyväskylä, 1997). You can purchase it from the Otaniemi service desk or AYY webshop (shop.ayy.fi).

Student Union of the Helsinki University of Technology (TKY) united with the Student Union of the Helsinki School of Economics (KY), and the Student Union of the University of Art and Design Helsinki (TOKYO) when the Aalto University Student Union (AYY) began to be cooperative on 1st January 2010.
