If you lock yourself out of your apartment, the castle warden in your building may help you. So first try to call him/her. Remember that Castle Wardens are volunteers, so please ask nicely and understand, if he/she is not around and can’t come and open the door for you. Remember to always fill in a notice about lost key. The Housing Office will instruct you how to proceed with the issue and how you can get a new key as soon as possible.

You will have to pay the cost of replacing the key (35 €/key in 2018). AYY will send you an invoice about the lost key. If your lease ends and you return less keys to AYY than what you have received from AYY, the missing keys are replaced and the cost is taken from your deposit money.

All replacement keys are handled through the AYY Housing Office in Otaniemi. The replacement keys can only be picked up from Otaniemi. AYY will inform you by email once the key is ready and can be picked up.
