Aalto University Student Union (AYY) is a 15 000 members strong student organization. AYY is a self-governing community subject to public law and its status is defined in the Finnish student union act.

All Aalto University students undertaking bachelor’s or master’s degrees are members of the student union. Doctorate level students and exchange students can join the union if they wish to do so. Official rules and regulations of the student union can be found from AYY’s Student Council Wiki.
