1. COURSES STARTING IN JANUARY AT UNISPORT

There are several courses starting in January on many of the campuses. See the details here.

2. CHANGES TO UNISPORT TERMS OF SERVICES FROM JANUARY 1ST, 2013

UniSport has made some changes to their terms of services from January 1st, 2013. New additions concern validity of a term sticker and interference of misuse and inappropriate behavior. Read more here.

3. SKI RENTAL SERVICES AT VIIKKI’S UNISPORT

UniSport offers cross-country skiing equipment at the Viikki Sports Center. A rental package includes skies, poles and boots for traditional style skiing. The package is rented in exchange for an identity certificate. No reservations in advance. Read more here.

4. CITIZENS’ OWN SNOWBOARDING PLACE OPENED IN KIVIKKO

The city of Helsinki has opened citizens’ own snowboarding place in Kivikko. The snowboarding place offers challenges for more advanced snowboarders and easier rails for new comers. Admission fee is 13€. Read more here.

5. GET ACQUINTED WITH ADULT’S SPORTS SERVICES IN ESPOO

The city of Espoo provides plenty of sports opportunities for adults. Demonstration of the services available will be organized this Saturday 12th of January in Leppävaara at Sello library at 12-16 and next Saturday 19th of January in Espoon keskus at Entresse library at 12-16. The events are free of charge. Read more information here (in Finnish only).

6. LET’S MOVE TOGETHER- APPLY FOR INSTRUCTOR

AYY is organizing a course in collaboration with UniSport and FSHS for students who are currently inactive or find it difficult to be physically active alone. Now we are looking for 4 to 6 instructors for the course. The instructors are working with peer support principle, so they do not need to be educated sports instructor. All you need is right attitude and willingness to commit to the course for 3 months. AYY will train chosen instructors. Instructors will not get monetary reward, but will be rewarded with free UniSport training cards.
