1. AYY DECIDED ON THE OPERATIONAL GRANTS FOR THE YEAR 2013

The application period for AYY’s operational grants and increased grants took place during March and ended on 1 April 2013. AYY’s association sector went through the applications and based on the presentations of the sector, the Board made decisions on the grants at its meeting 19/2013 (Wednesday, 24 April 2013). The entire decisions are now available on AYY.fi at  /toiminta-avustukset-2013/. The associations that have applied for the grant will also be individually informed about the results. Payments are made as soon as possible. Next week, AYY’s Board will decide how to act with associations that have forgotten to apply for the operational grant by the deadline.

Any inquiries and additional questions can be addressed to the association sector to the address jarjestosektori@ayy.fi.

2. ADVANCE BOOKING OF FACILITIES TO BEGIN RIGHT AFTER MAY DAY

The advance booking of facilities for the next autumn is approaching. This time, the reservation period is 19 Aug 2013‒12 Jan 2014. Everything works as previously. The schedule for the advance booking is as follows:

  • 17 Apr‒24 Apr  AYY’s own actors
  • 25 Apr‒3 May  Special status associations
  • 4 May‒11 May Other associations
  • 16 May             Advance booking event

The location of the advance booking event will be announced closer to the event. The advance booking form is available at http://yhdistykset.ayy.fi/tilakahmyt/. At the end of every booking phase, an excel sheet is added to AYY’s website, which shows the made reservations and overlapping bookings can be avoided in advance.

3. STILL TIME TO SUBMIT YOUR EVENTS FOR AYY’S PAPER CALENDAR

Associations and actors within AYY have the opportunity to submit important event dates for the student union’s academic year calendar. Events can be submitted through the Google Docs file linked below until Sunday, 26 May 2013. Please add your events under the correct month in chronological order. Please enter the text you want in the calendar ”Event name/Text” field (yellow background). Please note that one line can hold up the maximum of 25 characters of text, including spaces. When writing the text, please consider how many lines from  your own calendar you wish to be ”wasted”. The calendar is trilingual so please take this into account when planning the text.

If there are several events marked on the same date, the event that concerns most of the students will end up in the calendar. The file is editable until the provided deadline 26 May 2013, until which you can make changes to your events. Please fill out the columns carefully, and check and double check that the information is correct. Please also remember to include information on who is organising the event.

Submit your event at: http://tinyurl.com/ayycalendar2013. Questions and comments to AYY’s Communications Officer Henna Lahti (henna.lahti@ayy.fi or 050 5209440).

4. MAY DAY EVENTS AT WAPPU.FI

Please remember that wappu.fi site is open during the May Day period, where you can see all May Day events in one place. On the site, you can also conveniently publish any May Day events of your association.
