1. AYY’S ASSOCIATION TRAINING BEGINS AT 5PM ON 26 NOV

AYY’s association training will be organised at Design Factory in Espoo starting at 5pm on 26 Nov. The training is intended for old and new operators in the member associations of AYY’s association register. You can also participate if you are interested in association activities or consider establishing a new association, for example. The training is suitable both for beginners in association activities and the more experienced operators.

A more detailed programme will be published later at ayy.fi and in the association newsletter, but you can already register for the training at  http://lomake.ayy.fi/yhdistykset/yhdistyskoulutus-2013/.

2. ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER IS NOW RESPONSIBLE FOR AYY’S FACILITY SECTOR

AYY has reorganised duties in such a way that from now on Administrative Manager Johanna PietilÀinen is responsible for the organising of all facility issues. If you have any questions, comments or feedback concerning association facilities or facilities rented on a one-time basis, you can directly contact Johanna (johanna.pietilainen@ayy.fi; 050-5209434).

3. CHECK ALL FACILITY RESERVATIONS MADE FOR THE AUTUMN FROM AYY’S FACILITY RESERVATION CALENDAR

During the autumn, it has become clear that some reservations in AYY’s facility reservation calendar have changed places for some reason. This has led to unintended overlapping reservations and some problem situations. We are investigating the reason for the changed reservations. In order for us to serve the associations as well as possible, AYY should find out in how big the problem is.

That is why I am now asking the associations to check that all their reservation dates are correct. If your reservation is fine, you do not have to notify us separately. However, if your reservation has been moved or deleted, please report it to AYY to tilat@ayy.fi.

Please note that the Association Facility (”Yhdistystila”) is not available for use this autumn. If your association has made reservations for this facility, please change your reservation to another location through Otaniemi Service Point.

4. CRAFT ROOM AND THE LIVING ROOM AVAILABLE FOR BOOKINGS AGAIN

The craft room of the village at JĂ€merĂ€ntaival 6 and the living room at JĂ€merĂ€ntaival 5 are available for bookings again. From now on, these facilities can be booked by AYY’s members in the same way as the facilities rented on a one-time basis.

Available hours can be checked in the booking calendar of facilities, which is available on AYY’s website (/jasenille/tilojen-vuokraaminen/), and you can make the reservation by visiting the service point, by phone or by filling out the facility reservation form online.

Both of these facilities are free of charge.

5. AYY OFFERS REMOVAL WORK FOR ASSOCIATIONS

The first part of AYY’s central office moved away from LĂ€mpömiehenkuja in the middle of the month and the rest of the office will also move to Otakaari on 11 Nov. This part of the removal is done by a suitable association if we can find one.

We have about 4 van loads of items to be moved. AYY provides its van for this purpose. Please send your offer to johanna.pietilainen@ayy.fi by Friday, 1 Nov. The offer must include information on who will do the job, who is the contact person, an estimate of how many people will carry out the removal and how much you will charge for this job. We will notify the elected association about the job on 4 Nov.

6. FREE FURNITURE FOR ASSOCIATIONS

AYY’s central office will move to new facilities to the ground floor of Otakaari 11 during November. At the same time, AYY will permanently leave the office at LĂ€mpömiehenkuja. AYY has purchased plenty of new furniture in connection with the removal and there is much less floor space in the new office. Therefore, AYY has plenty of useful pieces of furniture that could be utilised.

We would like the associations to reuse as many pieces of furniture as possible and we have decided to donate any extra furniture free of charge. The furnishings include couches, Martela’s desks and office chairs, among other things. You can come and have a look at the furniture at LĂ€mpömiehenkuja at 10am-4pm on 4-5 Nov, when the associations can reserve pieces of furniture for themselves. The association that reserves a piece of furniture first will have it. The collection will take place between 10am-4pm on 12-14 Nov. Associations have to arrange transport for the furniture by themselves.

7. OPENING HOURS OF CASHIER SERVICES TO CHANGE

The opening hours of cashier services will change in connection with the renovation of Otakaari Service Point. In the future, the cashier services of AYY’s Otaniemi Service Point are available on weekdays between 12noon-2pm. Therefore, the opening hours will be similar with the housing office services.

8. AYY’S RECRUITMENT SITES FOR THE YEAR 2014 ARE OPEN

AYY is made and experienced by its members. Each active AYY member can contribute to making the student union an important, necessary, suitable, interesting and reliable interest representative, service provider and community for themselves and, above all, their community. 10. CROUCHING DRAGONS’ TAI CHI COURSE FOR BEGINNERS ON 5 NOV-10 DEC

HiipivĂ€t LohikÀÀrmeet (”Crouching Dragons”) is Aalto University’s own Tai Chi club and it organises Tai Chi course for beginners between 5 Nov-10 Dec 2013 on Tuesdays, 4.15pm–5pm, in the multi-purpose facilities of JĂ€merĂ€ntaival 3A.
