AYY’s information coordination has had a tumultuous start for the year. We now have a new coordinator to renew our brand, and a new deputy in charge of information coordination.
Starting from the end of February, information coordination is done by Katarina Vesikko. Vesikko has graduated from Helsinki University as a master of social sciences, and has held positions in public administration as communications officer. In addition, she has studied media education, film and television studies, gender studies, Russian translation and in Aalto’s Magazine Design master’s degree program.
”I believe the purpose of communication is to serve people, in this instance meaning the students. That’s why I’ll do my very best to ensure that the Student Union’s communication will be open, effortless and inclusive. In my opinion, this is best done with reciprocal dialogue – in other words, call me, tweet me, come visit me: let’s work together for a better result!”
Henrik Lähdesniemi will also be working as a Branding Coordinator at AYY for the duration of the spring. Previously, he has worked in re-branding projects for KY and the student organization Aalto Marketing Society.
”I’ve done a lot of work in community branding. Renewal of the AYY brand is an excellent continuation of this work, and I have great enthusiasm and the needed serious attitude for the project!”
The Student Union of the Aalto University (AYY) is a service and advocate association for about 15,000 students of the Aalto University. AYY works as an advocate for its members, especially in matters of educational politics and social issues relating to studies.
