AYY’s Suvi Vendelin appointed to SYL Board for 2019
Suvi Vendelin has been appointed to member of the Board of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) for the year 2019.
Vendelin is a 24-year-old architecture student, and this year, she has acted as the member of the AYY Board in charge of Educational Policy Advocacy and Development Cooperation. Previously, Vendelin has, for instance, acted as Chair of AYY’s Study Council and been on the Board and held several positions in Aalto University’s Guild of Architecture.
“The Finnish parliamentary election, the European Elections and possibly also the provincial elections are organised next year. I’m excited about being able to make the students’ voice heard in connection with the elections alongside the other exceptional SYL Board members!” says Vendelin freshly after her appointment.
Next year, SYL’s Board will be chaired by Sanni Lehtinen. The other members of the SYL Board for 2019 are Helmi Andersson, Titta Hiltunen, Roope Tukia, Kim Kujala and Heidi Rättyä.
SYL’s General Assembly was held in Otaniemi, Espoo on Fri–Sat 16–17 November. SYL represents university students in Finland on national level and makes statements on issues relating to educational and social policies as well as international issues.
