May Day takes off with a bang on 30.4 6 pm at Kauppatori, when Aalto University Student Union (AUS) in tandem with the Association of Economics Students in Helsinki (KY) crown the Havis Amanda statue. The show and celebration marks the first crowning of Manta for Aalto University Student Union. At the same we celebrate the almost magical 100-year journey of the Association of Economics Students in Helsinki (KY) with the KY100 jubilee year! We blow minds.

The show starts at 5 pm when the Aalto University students arrive as a large May Day parade to the statue.

Schedule:

4 pm: The parades for Aalto students start at Hietalahdentori and Pohjoinen Rautatienkatu in front of the KY building.
5 pm: Manta show begins with the cleaning of Manta
6 pm: Manta is crowned.
The party continues in Dipoli May Day at Otaniemi, and in KY’s May Day party at Kaivohuone.
Sunday we gather at Ullanlinnanmäki for a May day brunch.
