3. Apply for the position of a student member in the editorial council of Aino or Aate

Do you want to influence what AYY’s student media will look like in the future? Application for the editorial councils of Aino and Aate is ongoing! The student member’s important task is to examine media activities from the student’s point of view and report how Aate and Aino could better serve their most important target group, the students. Previous experience in the editorial council work or education in the field is not required.

Aino’s editorial council includes two student members. The editorial council will meet 1-2 times per an academic term during its two-year term.

Two student members are appointed to the editorial council of Aate. The editorial council of Aate is appointed every year and it meets a few times per an academic term.

4. Need for money? Aino Magazine is looking for a deliverer group for the year 2012

Is your community or association collecting funds for a trip, are you planning a big party or does your group of friends simply need some money? AYY’s student magazine Aino is distributed in Otaniemi, Töölö and Arabia. Aino will be published five times next year and compensation for the distribution is paid for each issue. Distribution should be performed within one day and a supplementary distribution to public locations in Otaniemi should be carried out after two weeks. AYY provides a van for the distribution or pays for the rental of one. A more detailed invitation for tenders and distribution locations are available at the address (in Finninsh).

5. Registration for SELL2012 games has begun

SELL2012 Games will be arranged in Espoo, Otaniemi, on 17-20 May 2012. Students can register themselves or their team with the SELL contact person at their school. The details of the contact persons are available at www.sell2012.fi website.

In accordance with the principles of SELL Games, the admission fee is inexpensive: €25/person/day. The fee includes the participation right to the competitions and other events, meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and the travel right for public transport in the Helsinki region during the games. Mattress accommodation can be booked separately at the price €5/person/day.

6. FSHS physiotherapy groups in the spring of 2012

A variety of physical therapy groups will be arranged at FSHS Töölö in the spring of 2012. You can sign up for neck-back exercise group, relaxation group, posture group, exercise stress away course or muscle maintenance course. Groups are free of charge and the main language is Finnish.

Binding registrations from 2 Jan 2012 onwards to the advice phone of physiotherapy 046 710 1503, Mon–Fri, 11am–12noon. The fee for uncancelled appointment is 25€/one session. Cancellations must be made to the same number or online at www.yths.fi no later than 12noon on the previous day!

7. FSHS penalty fee to rise from EUR 15 to EUR 25

The Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) increases the penalty fee for students who do not cancel and do not arrive at their appointment from 15 to 25 euros starting from 1 January 2012.

8. Christmas drinks of Komitu working group on Tuesday, 13 Dec

You are cordially welcome to have a Christmas drink with Komitu working group consisting of students of Architecture at the villa of the Museum of Finnish Architecture in Kaivopuisto Park (address Puistokatu 4) on Tuesday, 13 Dec, 6pm-8pm. You can also hear about the youth centre that will be constructed in Cambodia next spring. Aalto Social Impact and Aidbrella also take part in the event.
