3. Mosaic’s logo contest starts today!

Mosaic is announcing a contest open for every member of the Aalto community! We feel that our logo needs an update to better capture what Mosaic holds dear: international and cross-cultural exchange of ideas, opinions and world views. So, how can all things international be expressed in one single image? Put your creativity and innovativeness to the test and design a new logo for Mosaic.

Use your favourite tools to sketch a logo that encapsulates Mosaic’s identity and submit it via e-mail to mosaic@list.ayy.fi with your contact information. Entries should preferably be submitted as vector graphics. The deadline for the submissions is at midnight on the 28th of February, after which the designs will be judged by Mosaic and the international sector of AYY. The winner shall naturally receive eternal glory, in addition to which they shall be awarded two VIP tickets to the International sitsit and two movie tickets to Finnkino. Runner-ups will also be awarded movie tickets. AYY reserves the right to modify the winning logo and use it in any form.

8. No Pants Subway Ride – Helsinki

Saturday 31 January @ 7pm in Ruoholahti

As if Finns needed an excuse to loose their clothes and run around…

This is our very own (late version) of the annual no Pants ride in January in New York City. The idea behind No Pants is simple: Random passengers board a metro car in the middle of winter without pants. The participants behave as if they do not know each other, and they all wear winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves. The only unusual thing is their lack of pants.

Reclaiming public spaces is nothing more than exercising our rights to use them in the first place, while our shared complicity creates an excuse to be “playful” and interact in public. We are trying to establish a sort of “Every man’s urban rights” movement.
