As a Housing Adviser, you are an important part of the Services team that strives to implement the vision of our Student Union: AYY – The best student life in the world. Housing Advisers help our members with housing-related matters, process housing applications, prepare tenancy agreements and participate in the production and development of AYY’s services in versatile ways.

More information on the position at /ylioppilaskunta/avoimet-tyopaikat/asumisneuvoja (in Finnish).

3. AYY is looking for voluntary Security Officers for the Wappu events

This year, AYY’s Wappu features several events that can only take place if volunteers sign up as Security Officers. At many events, it is also possible to act as a temporary Security Officer, meaning there is no need for previous experience or a completed Security Officer course.

Over Wappu, Security Officers may get to see the crowning of the Havis Amanda statue, for example, from a front-row seat, and you will naturally also be rewarded for your efforts.

The events and more detailed information on the work benefits can be found here: https://lomake.ayy.fi/culture/jarjestyksenvalvojaksi-ayyn-wapputapahtumiin (in Finnish).

Registration opens on 3 Apr at 12 noon.

4. Apply for AYY’s scholarships by 24 Apr!

This spring, AYY is distributing exchange, community and study scholarships to support the internationalisation and communal activities of students and to encourage the successful combination of studies and student life.

The application period for the scholarships is from 12 noon on 27 Mar to 11.59 pm on 24 Apr.

You can find more information on the scholarships and the application form here: /en/students/services/scholarships/.

EVENTS

7. Äpy sales season opening in the Undergraduate Centre on Tuesday 2 Apr at 10 am–3 pm

8. Climate March #2 – Join us on 6 Apr

Let’s march together for a better future and demand more ambitious climate policies on 6 Apr in Helsinki. We will assemble on the Senate Square at 2.00 pm on Saturday 6 Apr. The procession towards the Parliament House departs at around 2.30 pm.

The Finnish climate policy is insufficient. Climate science delivers a clear message: we must do better. Touching words and speeches are not enough. Decision-makers must recognise the importance of the matter. The next Parliament must begin the reconstruction of Finland. Join us in demanding powerful action to prevent a climate crisis.
